Mission

Bring awareness to the social and environmental health benefits of bicycling by reducing access barriers and increasing knowledge and skills.
Objectives
  • Increase number of cyclists in the TMC
  • Advocate for policy change regarding cycling in business districts
  • Bring awareness to the environmental benefits of cycling

Contributors
Ashley
Ashley is a graduate student at the University of Texas School of Public Health, pursuing a masters in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science, concentrating in Global Health. When she isn't delving into her studies, you can find her salsa dancing or working out. Ashley's favorite food is lasagna and has an uncanny obsession with mints and Werther's Originals.


Lauren
Lauren is a Masters in Public Health student at the UT School of Public Health in Houston. She is interested in oral health in under-served populations and increasing population dental knowledge. Her hobbies included working out outdoors, crocheting and playing with her dog Heidi.



Kasia
Kasia is a fourth year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine and a Masters of Public Health student at UTSPH in Health Promotions. She enjoys long walks on the beach, candle-lit dinners, and free days during which she can watch Maury and Family Feud. Kasia enjoys riding her mint-green cruiser around town, fully equipped with a basket and vintage cowgirl bell. When she's not working, you can find her enjoying an adult beverage in the Montrose area with friends (and some enemies). 

Rocío
Rocío "Chío" is graduate student at the University of Texas School of Public Health, concentrating in Health Promotion & Behavioral Sciences. Following her work at UTSPH, she is considering business school to learn more about entrepreneurship and innovation. She is also co-owner of domesticat, an eco-conscious producer of modern architecture for cats. She describes herself as a social entrepreneur, self-employed health lobbyist, crazy cat lady, and high-functioning neurotic little overachiever.

Min
Min Kyeong Jo is a first year Master of Public Health and Master of Nursing student at UTHSC-H. She hopes her learning at UTHSC to help her family members and others who have suffered from cancers. If she is not studying in the library, she can be found wandering at local stores for shopping or she is fluently chatting with people in Korean. She likes to learn other cultures and languages. For her best time,  she loves to have tea with classical music.

Laura L.
Laura is a graduate student at the University of Texas School of Public Health. After graduation she plans to work in health education and communication. In her free time she enjoys cooking, sewing, and playing with her kitten, Sophie.



Laura N.
Laura Niles is a second-year graduate student from Atlanta, Ga. studying public health at UTHealth.  After a career in environmental health and health communication, she decided to shift her career focus to promoting health in older adults.  When she is not working at the Houston Geriatric Education Center or volunteering at nursing homes in northwest Houston, she can be found wandering her adorable Houston Heights neighborhood, climbing 14ers in Colorado, and listening to the musical stylings of the Beastie Boys. 

Beverly
Beverly is a dual-degree student at the University of Texas School of Public Health and Baylor College of Medicine. Though graduation is still a ways off, she hopes to work in the field of international health as a physician. In the midst of all her studying, Beverly enjoys everything related to food- blogging, photography, cooking, and eating!
